The 21st Battalion trained in the Kingston, Ontario area through the winter of 1914-15.

Embarked the RMS Metagama in Montreal, Quebec

Disembarked in Devonport, England and the battalion proceeded to the West Sandling Camp, near Hythe, Kent to continue training

Embarked the St. Seiriol in Folkestone

 

 

Sep 15, 1915

Disembarked in Boulogne, France and the battalion proceeded to St. Omer

Appointed to the rank of Lance Corporal with pay

 

Sep 16, 1916

During the fighting on the Somme at the sugar factory south of Courcelette, France, Lance Corporal Tivy received a bullet wound to his right leg above the ankle and was evacuated first to a field ambulance for first aid, then to a casualty clearing station

Invalided to England, aboard the Hospital Ship Jan Breydel

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the No. 2 London General Hospital in Chelsea

Transferred to the CCAC (Canadian Casualty Assembly Centre) for pay purposes while in hospital

Transferred to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Jan 3, 1917

Discharged from hospital and reported to the Canadian Casualty Assembly Centre in Hastings

Attached to the CCD (Canadian Command Depot) for physical training and exercise at St. Leonard’s Hospital

Aubrey’s first wife Francis, died and was buried in the St. Michael’s Cemetery in Coe Hill, Ontario.  I could find no date for her death

Aubrey John Tivy died in Coe Hill, Ontario and was buried in the St. Michael’s Anglican Cemetery, Coe Hill, Ontario
