Private Turpin left the reinforcement camp and joined the 21st Battalion at the front and was posted to “A” Company

During fighting west of the Sensee River, south-west of Vis en Artois, France, Private Turpin received a shrapnel wound to his right knee and was evacuated to the No. 4 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid before being transported to the No. 42 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Aug 28, 1918

Transferred via the No. 9 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 32 Stationary Hospital in Wimereux, France

 

Sep 2, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship St. David

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Whipps Cross War Hospital in Leytonstone, London

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Oct 8, 1918

Transferred to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Oct 28, 1918

Attached to the 1st CCD (Canadian Command Depot) in Seaford for therapy and exercise
