Lance Corporal Utley was wounded in Cambrai, France.  He received shrapnel wounds to the head, right arm, right thigh, and back and was taken to the 4th Casualty Clearing Station by the 9 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance)

Admitted to #25 General Hospital, Hardelot, France

 

Sep 26, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the hospital ship “Princess Elizabeth” and upon arriving in England was posted to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes

Admitted to the 2nd Western General Hospital in Manchester, England

 

Oct 21, 1918

Discharged from hospital and transferred to the Canadian convalescent hospital in Epsom, England

 

Dec 2, 1918

Discharged from hospital as wound had healed.  Declared fit for duty

 

Dec 3, 1918

Admitted to the military convalescent hospital Woodcote Park, Epsom Surrey, England

 

Dec 9, 1918

Discharged from hospital as wound has healed with no disability.  Lance Corporal Utley proceeded and was Taken on Strength (TOS) to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford, England

 

Apr 10, 1919

Taken on Strength (TOS) on transfer to Kinmel Park at Rhyl, Wales for return to Canada

 

May 2, 1919

Taken on Strength (TOS) at the No. 1 Military District Depot disposal station K and embarked the ship SS Cassandra in order to proceed to Canada

 

 

May 13, 1919

Disembarked in Montreal, Quebec and proceeded to London, ON

 

May 15, 1919

Discharged in London, Ontario Category “B” meaning not fit for general service but fit for certain classes of service
