The battalion trained in the Kingston area through the winter with headquarters in the Kingston Armouries

Clifford Weston played right defence on the 21st Battalion’s hockey team that defeated the 14th PWOR hockey team 5 to 0.

 

May 6, 1915

Embarked the RMS Metagama in Montreal, Quebec

 

 

May 15, 1915

Disembarked in Devonport, England and the battalion proceeded to the West Sandling Camp, near Hythe, Kent to continue training

 

Sep 14, 1915

Embarked the St. Seiriol in Folkestone

 

 

Sep 15, 1915

Disembarked in Boulogne, France and the battalion proceeded to St. Omer

 

Oct 8, 1915

While in the front line trench near Messines, Belgium, Private Weston was wounded in his left hip by shrapnel and evacuated to the No. 5 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid.

 

Oct 9, 1915

Transferred to the casualty clearing station in Bailleul, France

 

Oct 10, 1915

Transferred to the No. 22 General Hospital in Camiers, France where surgery was performed to remove shrapnel

 

Nov 14, 1915

Invalided to England

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Duchess of Connaught Canadian Red Cross Hospital in Taplow

Transferred to the 39th Reserve Battalion for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Jan 8, 1916

Transferred to the Hillingdon House Convalescent Home in Uxbridge

 

Jan 11, 1916

Discharged from hospital and reported to the 39th Reserve Battalion in West Sandling

Transferred to the 36th Battalion in West Sandling
