o   This was later reorganized into “B” Company

The battalion trained in the Kingston area through the winter with headquarters in the Kingston Armouries

Peter’s older brother was killed while serving with the Royal Navy when his ship, the HMS Bulwark, exploded while loading ammunition in Sheerness, England.  His remains were never recovered.

Married to Devina Leslie in Kingston, Ontario

Embarked the RMS Metagama in Montreal, Quebec

 

 

May 15, 1915

Disembarked in Devonport, England and the battalion proceeded to the West Sandling Camp, near Hythe, Kent to continue training

His wife Devina is reported to have followed a short time later and stayed with her parents in Scotland for the duration of the war

Embarked the St. Seiriol in Folkestone

 

 

Sep 15, 1915

Disembarked in Boulogne, France and the battalion proceeded to St. Omer

Granted 9 days leave

 

Sep 15, 1916

During the capture of the heavily defended sugar factory south of Courcelette, France, Private Wilson received a bullet wound to his right leg and was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid before being transported to a casualty clearing station

 

Sep 17, 1916

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Stad Antwerpen

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the No. 2 Eastern General Hospital in Brighton

Transferred to the CCAC (Canadian Casualty Assembly Centre) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Sep 27, 1916

Transferred to the Military Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Nov 9, 1916

Discharged from hospital and attached to the CCD (Canadian Command Depot) for physical training and exercise

 

Dec 27, 1916

Transferred to the 1st Canadian Corps Training Battalion in Hastings

 

Feb 3, 1917

Transferred to the Canadian Railway Troops Depot in Purfleet and his rank changed to Sapper

The USA Census shows Peter and Devina living at 86 Duhman Ave., Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA

 

Aug 21, 1981

Peter Richardson Wilson died while a resident of the Edgecombe Nursing Home in Lenox, Massachusetts, USA and was buried in the Pittsfield Cemetery, Pittsfield, Massachusetts
