Disembarked in Liverpool, England and proceeded to Seaford where the draft was absorbed into the 6th Reserve Battalion to continue training

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Aug 18, 1918

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

 

Aug 23, 1918

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Aug 28, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Wood joined the 21st Battalion on the south side of the Arras – Cambrai Road, south east of Vis en Artois, France

 

Oct 25, 1918

Admitted to the No. 4 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with a diagnosis that reads ICT (Inter Connective Tissue) infection in his right thumb

 

Nov 3, 1918

Transferred to the No. 5 Canadian Field Ambulance

 

Nov 9, 1918

After being discharged from the field ambulance, he rejoined the 21st Battalion in Elouges, Belgium

 

Dec 7, 1918

Admitted to the No. 6 Canadian Field Ambulance with a diagnosis that reads PUO (Pyrexia of Unknown Origin), a fever without a known cause.  He was transported to the No. 64 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station) and the diagnosis was changed to read Influenza

 

Dec 9, 1918

Transferred via the No. 1 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 32 Casualty Clearing Station, then to the No. 2 Casualty Clearing Station in Valenciennes, France

 

Dec 13, 1918

Transferred to the No. 7 Canadian General Hospital in Etaples, France

Discharged from hospital and Taken On Strength of the Canadian Infantry Base Depot in Etaples

Robert Wood drowned in the Bay of Quinte, near Wellington, Ontario when he fell from a row boat.  He was buried in the Fairview United Church Cemetery, Mariatown, Ontario
