Killed in Action

Artillery Wood Cemetery
Boesinge Belgium

The 21st Battalion was not in any action on this or the previous date, and no casualties are recorded in the war diary.  The diary does make note of 2 Companies being on loan, one each to the 18th and 19th Battalions in the front lines.  A check of those war diaries show heavy casualties for both dates.

Above is a plaque in the Salford Ontario United Church.  It should be noted that this was originally a Methodist Church.   Archie Harrison's name is the second from the top, while his best friend, Wray Chambers, (also a 21st Battalion member) is the first name.
